Subdued beauty
Je suis KO, sur le dos. Perdu pour le compte et regardant le vide avec des yeux aveugles. Je suis toujours obsédé par mon séjour à l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Des impressions qui flottent toujours dans mon esprit.
J'ai aussi en tête un chanson de Moustaki et, plus particulièrement, l'interprétation magnifique qu'en fait Reggiani; "Sarah". Vous savez...:
“La femme qui est dans mon lit
N’a plus vingt ans depuis longtemps”
Tout ceci a influencé les nouvelles tonalités de ces photos qui traduisent bien, je pense, la beauté discrète, un peu fanée, presque surannée de l'Île.
“Et c’est son coeur
Couvert de pleurs
Et de blessures
Qui me rassure”
I'm lying down on my back. Gone for the count and staring blindessly into a void. I'm kinda still obsessed by my recent trip to Prince Edward Island. Its scents still lingering in my numbed mind.
I also have an old french song that keeps coming back to me, as soon as I wake up; "Sarah", written by Georges Moustaki and beautifuly interpreted by Serge Reggiani. It goes somewhat like this:
“The woman who lies in my bed
is long past her twenties.”
All of this forged that new curve, those new tonalities for me, this look that translate the discreet and subdued beauty of PEI.
“And it is her
tears and scars
covered heart
that soothes me.”
